中文摘要：孔子和柏拉图对于音乐的社会功能都给予了高度重视。柏拉图认为音乐教育是一切教育中最重要的一项,孔子认为音乐的使命是教育人们达到精神上的和谐,培养人们的道德情操,陶冶人们的情感;孔子和柏拉图都强调节制,反对革新,在音乐美学思想上都具有一定的保守性。孔子音乐美学思想的核心是"礼",而柏拉图的音乐美学的核心则是"理念"。

外文摘要：Confucius and Plato have high expectation on music＇s social functions. Plato keeps the ideas that music education is the most important, while Confucius thinks that the mission of music is spiritual harmony for people with edifying people＇s emotions. Both of them emphasize abstention and oppose reform, which are their same viewpoints on aesthetics. However, the core of Confucius＇ideas on music is politeness, and that of Plato＇s is concept.
