中文摘要：汉语和其它语言一样，在自身发展的过程中，总在不断地引进和吸收外来词。外来词一旦被汉语吸收．就常常会按照汉语的特点和需要进行改造，以适应汉语的语言体系，成为汉语词汇中的成员。对外来词汉化的研究不仅可以丰富比较语言学的内容，而且时于正确理解词义，进行汉外语互译具有重要的指导作用。本文就源于英语的汉语外来词的词义汉化以及汉英词典对外来词的回译问题作了探讨。

外文摘要：Like other languages, Chinese often absorbs loan words during the process of its development. Once absorbed, these words will be assimilated by Chinese on the basis of its features and needs so as to be adapted to Chinese language system and become members of Chinese vocabulary. The research in this field is beneficial not only to comparative linguistics, but also to the understanding of loan words and their translation. The present paper intends to study the semantic adaptation of Chinese loan words borrowed from English and discuss their back translation in Chinese-English dictionaries.
