中文摘要：本文运用修辞结构理论分析了忠实于原文的译文,发现这些译文的译者对结构段的划分以及对结构段之间的逻辑关系的理解是正确的,也分析了错误的译文,发现误译常常是对原文结构段之间的语义关系误解所致。这样,本文从正反两个方面论证了修辞结构理论中的结构段可作为翻译单位。

外文摘要：This paper makes a brief introduction to the span, a hierarchical dynamic unit of meaning in the rhetorical structure theory (RST). It illustrates with examples that errors in translation basically result from the translators' failure to see the logical relations between the spans and suggests that the span in RST be employed as the unit of translation.
