外文摘要:Long-term stability of rock pillars in the Longyou Ancient Grottoes was investigated. Sonic wave detection was conducted on some of the rock pillars in the Longyou ancient underground grottoes and two fractures that had already been formed. The weakening effects of cyclic temperature and cyclic stress were considered, and then a numerical simulation for the long-term performance of the pillar rock was conducted. Sonic wave detection indicates that the rock pillars are safe in general, while measures should be taken to protect the pillars because of the visible fractures on the surfaces of the rock pillars. Numerical simulation shows that the long-term stability of the rock pillars is quite fine. The rock pillars are compressed in general; however, the regions around the two fractures are stretched. The fracture width increases slowly with the increase in calculation time, while the safety factor has a sharp decrease in the former years and then decreases slowly as the calculation time proceeds.
