中文摘要：《祝福》迄今为止有五个英译本。语料库统计显示小说共有文化专有词57个,在翻译这些词时如何充分再现文化信息对译者是一个很大的挑战。本文运用系统功能语法和评价理论对五个译本的5个典型例子进行基于语料库的对比分析,以期找出不同译本对文化内涵保留的忠实程度。研究发现由于中西方文化的差异,有的译本丢失了一些文化专有词的概念意义,有的没有在译文中充分体现文化专有词的人际意义。

外文摘要：The New Year Sacrifice is a well-received short story by Lu Xun with five English translations. The corpus statistics show there are 57 culture-specific items that pose a great challenge to translators to effectively render into English. This paper intends to make a corpusbased discourse analysis of some of the typical examples in the five English versions within the framework of systemic functional grammar( SFG) and appraisal theory. It is an attempt to find out how much cultural implication can be maintained through the translation.The study finds that owing to the cultural differences between the Chinese culture and the English culture,the ideational meanings of some items are inevitably lost in these versions by various degrees. Of the five versions,Yang's version is arguably the best in maintaining the original cultural information.
