外文摘要：On the basis of the interpretation of the Chinese poetry, Stephen Owen strives for the construction of a poetry theory, centering on the highlighted aesthetic significance. In Stephen Owen＇ s opinion, the importance of the modernity context, which interprets the classical Chinese literature, lies in the fact that it provides the people in the modern society with a kind of spiritual value against the erosion of modernity of human nature. As a result, his research method on the history of Chinese literature is interpretative and meaning - oriented rather than textual and document - oriented. Although it has the possibility of misreading, it has rich enlightenment and focuses its attention on the modern significance of the classics. With the modernity of the tradition being its goal, the interpretation of Stephen Owen discloses the value of the classical poetry ： life - centered literature and respect for the people.
