中文摘要：警示语的翻译高下,直接影响外国友人对城市、景点的印象。本文指出警示语英译中普遍存在拼写错误、滥用词性、误用时态、强行直译等较为突出的问题;并提出保障警示语翻译质量的两种措施:用Peter Newmark的交际翻译法操作翻译、市政部门与地方高校共同承担翻译。

外文摘要：The quality of warning signs translation determines the impression of foreign tourists upon the scenic spots as well as the city. This paper attempts to point out a few typical problems existing in the C - E translation of warning signs, which are spelling mistake, abuse of parts of speech, misuse of tenses and word - for - word translation. Two methods are proposed to enhance the quality of translation, which are using Peter Newmark＇s communicative translation in translating practice and the cooperation between relevant municipal department and local universities.
