外文摘要:Mechanical behaviour of municipal solid waste (MSW) is one key issue to geo-environmentengineering, so it is necessary to properly understand it. Laboratory direct shear tests are carried out on MSW with three short ages and three unit weights. Experimental data show that MSW's shear failure still satisfies the Mohr-Coulomb criterion. As to bigger unit weight, shear strength of MSW monotonous increases within 1-7d age. When unit weight becomes smaller, its shear strength increases within 1-4d age but decreases within 4-7d age. Friction angle of MSW monotonous increases with age developing, but cohesion force of it first increases and then decreases. On the other hand, four typical characteristics of investigated shear stress-displacement (τ-w) curve of MSW are signalized and one composite hyperbolicline model (CHL model) is established to describe it. Generalized τ-w model is presented based on investigated data. Finally, good agreements have been found out between model simulated and investigated τ-w curves of MSW. Hyperbolic model is one degraded case of the CHL model. Result of this paper is helpful for corresponding geo-environment engineering. ? 2012 ejge.
