中文摘要：语篇模糊是指语义处于不确定或模糊状态.本文首先探讨了语篇模糊的形式特征和语义特征,接着分析了语篇模糊的成因,然后着重研究语篇模糊的四大功能,即诗学功能、美学功能、修辞功能和语篇功能;最后,作者试图运用空间映射理论来阐释语篇模糊的生成机制.

外文摘要：Textual ambivalence refers to the semantic indeterminacy or vagueness at the textual level. In this paper, the author firstly discusses the formal and semantic characteristics as well as reasons for the production of textual ambivalence. And then, he devotes a large chapter to dealing with functions of textual ambivalence from poetic, esthetic, rhetoric and textual perspectives. Finally, the author attempts to expound the working mechanisms of textual ambivalence by applying the Space Mapping Theory.
