外文摘要：In pragmatics, adjacency pair is a heatedly-discussed topic. Nevertheless, the discussion is always isolated. The paper holds that adjacency pairs can be observed in connection with the conversational styles. Therefore, the paper attempts to link the adjacency pair with one of the conversational styles: high involvement, endeavoring to delineate the characteristics of adjacency pairs and its pragmatic significance on this occasion.
